THE ILLUSION HAS NO POWER

JOHN MCINTOSH

It is in the nature of the false self to be selfish. It feels alone and isolated, even in crowds. Fear underpins its every choice even if it has manifested all its dreams. Suspicion colors its happiness and magnifies its sorrow. To it, everything and everyone is an opponent at best and an arch enemy at worst, whether it is aware of this or not. It embraces nothing without looking for exits.

When unselfishness arises in one’s experience, Truth is close and may prevail for a while but always recedes while the conditioning that defines the false self persists.

The SELF has no conditioning for selfishness to stick to. Not even the possible destruction of its body-vehicle can sway IT from the un-conditoned Love IT ‘is’. IT will always defer to the SELF IT sees in every face no matter how dark the resume may be. It cannot be fooled by any mask or disguise as ‘the illusion has no power’ over IT. The ONE Consciousness the SELF ‘is’ sees nothing out there … IT knows there ‘is’ no outside.
