THE SEDUCTION OF THE SELF

JOHN MCINTOSH

The false self [body-mind-identity (‘me’)] loves sentimentality. It wallows in the Ooh’s and Aah’s of the roller coaster ride between happiness and sorrow. It bows at the feet of the magicians who dangle their tricks and slight of hand phenomena, pointing here and there to what is coming and what it means. These are aspects of the Grand Dream that keep the false self ‘seduced’ by glamour and tinsel … the shades of illusion that come and go but never satisfy the deep longing of the imprisoned slumbering God-SELF to remember ITSELF.

And yet, there ‘is’ no mistake here … wandering within the endless labyrinths of the Grand Dream is how the SELF becomes acquainted with ITs infinite possibilities out of the Silent Nothing of Emptiness. The Divine Discontent [suffering] is ITs ‘crumb-trail’ out of the dream and when IT has experienced [within every temporary form and experience] IT SELF fully, finally that ‘thorn-in-the-side draws ITs focus inward where ITs undivided ATTENTION of IT SELF restores ITs Awareness of ITs True Being.
