Conditioning is what manifests the illusory body-mind-identity, veiling the ONE SELF You Are. The desolation of it reveals REALITY. Conditioning shows up as:
-attachments
-expectations and
-identification,
-tied to memory (past) and imagination (future)
Here are some examples of the underlying ‘essence’ of conditioning that show up as mirror-triggers in the dream-world most call their ‘reality’:
-someone betrays you and you feel anger, rage and sorrow [perhaps also revenge]. The conditioning triggered relates to the loss of [actually the absence of] ‘control’. Deeper still is the ‘fear’ this engenders. Still further down is the sense of ‘unworthiness’, which is at the root of all conditioning.
**Unworthiness arose as a result of the original FALL of Consciousness into the belief in separation**
-you are exposed to abuse … perhaps to your own body-mind-identity or someone(s) else … it matters not. What is important is the ‘trigger’. Beneath this lies again the feeling of being ‘powerless’ [no control] but deeper still is another of the foundational conditionings - ‘shame’ … and that too is associated with unworthiness.
Take any story/drama and dissect it to see the ‘feeling’ it brings up. Do this, if possible, ‘detached’ from the balcony as an observer for maximum clarity. Once you see what the feeling(s) is, look for either ‘guilt, shame, remorse or unworthiness’ as the conditioning [or a combination thereof].
The simple use of Self Inquiry is enough and does not require this investigation but recognizing how the trigger leads to the conditioning can help validate the power that Self Inquiry has to bring you HOME in the most direct way.
