JOHN MCINTOSH
The mind [false self] cannot grasp that in each moment ‘perfect guidance’ is always available for ‘what to do, where to go, what to say and to whom’. Based on the insecurity that emanates from its fundamental belief in separation, the false self seeks to control every situation … both present and what is to come. Its attention consistently oscillates between past and future as it negotiates with circumstances for the ideal ‘next move’. Trusting Life to provide that ideal navigation very rarely enters its endless list of agendas and plans designed to survive and hopefully prosper.
Eventually, this brings on exhaustion, which in turn leads to surrender and this is usually accompanied by an illness or debility of some kind. This surrender is more often a ‘giving up’ than a ‘giving in’, but the value of ‘any’ surrender inevitably brings about a sense of Peace and light-ness that is NOT known by living through the mind and can ‘nudge’ one toward ‘real’ surrender more and more. Welcome these moments no matter how they show up … they are your friends.
